The only way out or rather to prevent such situations is make sure u r kids have the confidence on you to talk about anything under the sun.A clear channel of communication is so very necessary.I dont think u can achieve anything with parental supervision or parental influnce.The only thing is to ensure that a child communicates each and every happening to the parent and the parent on his/her part has to ensure that they dont jump into conclusions abt their kids.Once thats done,the communication grinds to a halt.

First things first..I love those gems that you keep droppin in between like the waves rolling back etc.
Next,Kerala is supposed to be a matriarchal society.Its such a hypocritical word i feel..cos matriarchy is fine..but whose the head of the family?the great uncle is supposedly the head of the family.Could you ask for more double standards than this?
As for the story...frankly to me u might come after me and kill me..but whtvr it was that you were trying to portray or project..cudav been done a lil stronger..it just didnt hv the expected or the needed intensity..but then u r an expert at fiction:):)

Hey EW,
What do I say...An honest comment on this...I guess u got a lil bit too entangled in bringing out the magic and the mystery and the fairy tale part of it that I just lost track of what I was reading..
The prose is excellent and the way you play with words is something that nobody can miss out on...Quite a quality that you possess.
But frankly this piece was a lil disappointing to me cos I didnt know what to make out of it...or mebbe this is one of those pieces that r best considered as a fairy tale....(I knw this line doesnt make any sense but this is precisely the same feeling that I went thru as well when I read this piece)
Another reason could be that fairy tales are not my cup of tea...hmmm this cud be a strong possibility.....
Hope u take this in the right spirit and pls pls do keep writing cos u are indeed gifted
